Established 1972 ~ Burke, Virginia
Board of Directors
The Association is governed by a Board of Directors, which is responsible for setting policies and making decisions in accordance with the Association's "Articles of Incorporation", "Declaration of Covenants, Conditions and Restrictions", and "By-Laws". The Board has the responsibility to maintain the physical and financial health of the Association, and as such is authorized to enter into contracts, levy assessments (i.e., dues), and conduct other business for the benefit and well-being of the Association and its members.
Board members are elected by the homeowners for three-year terms. The Board is currently comprised of seven members, or directors, whose terms of office are staggered so that two to three seats are up for re-election every year. Board members must be homeowners in good standing in the Association (e.g., current on their dues). The Board elects its own officers, usually following the Annual Meeting. Board members are volunteers and receive no compensation for their service.
Board meetings are held on the second Wednesday of each month, beginning at 6:30PM, at Braddock Hall, 9002 Burke Lake Road, Burke, Virginia. Changes to the meeting time are posted on the News And Events page. Meetings are open to the Association membership, except when the Board is in Executive Session to deal with confidential and/or sensitive matters. Persons attending the Board meetings are expected to conduct themselves in a courteous, professional manner. Those wishing to bring an issue before the Board should contact the Community Manager in advance to ensure that time is allotted on the meeting schedule. There is typically a brief period during each meeting when homeowners may make open comments related to the Association.

Annual Meetings
The Association is required to hold an Annual Meeting for all homeowners. The meeting is typically held in September. The Annual Meeting provides homeowners with the opportunity to meet the Board of Directors and the Community Manager, to receive an update on the state of the Association, to ask questions of and provide input to the Board and Management, and to elect several new Board members. Only homeowners in good standing are permitted to vote at the Annual Meeting.
